This is the lifeblood for the programs we fund. Donations to Kaizen Edge Foundation are tax-deductible and go to help many adults and kids with developmental and physical disabilities. Funds are mostly used to pay for programs in which individuals participate. It is also used to pay for equipment they need, competition fees, and athlete travel expenses. We also pay for the training for volunteers and necessary adaptations to facilities. KEF Board Officers and administrators are volunteers so funds do not go for salaries.
Training programs that we fund are usually based in mind-body integration and revolve around the RISE values of Respect, Integrity, Service, and Excellence. These programs are usually multi-faceted and include most, if not all, of the following areas:
- Martial Arts
- Life Skills
Funded programs are ones that are designed to improve quality of life and to help participants toward independence.
Volunteers are desperately needed in our funded programs. Many disable participants need one-on-one attention and there are not enough coaches to go around. Volunteers can usually be trained quickly and easily....and KEF can help with paying for a portion or all of the training. Volunteers need to be responsible and think quickly. Some of the best volunteers have been teenagers! Veterans, especially wounded veterans, make excellent volunteers since they have the same qualities and values we share and they are familiar with helping others.
